Honda Carb/Combustion Chamber Cleaner

Postby SteveB123 » Sun Feb 24, 2013 11:01 am

Using a few cans of this stuff that I picked up at the dealership, since they didn't have any of the Yamaha Carb dip. Counterman claims its what their techs use, even for a dip. Spray it into a can, and there's your dip. Yeah, sure.

Oh yes! I was expecting some super volatile, instantly evaporating cleaner, like a brake cleaner. Nope. Thicker, comes out almost foam-like, and boy does it clean. Pull the clearcoat off of the car tops, too.

Two cans sprayed into a coffee can, and there IS my dip. I transfer it back and forth to the plastic tub, to retrieve parts or if I have something larger.
No discerable effect on the containers, or the carb metals. Varnish, dirt and carbon are GONE. Oh, and the clearcoat, as mentioned.

Good stuff.

I used the Honda Carb/Combustion Chamber Cleaner for years at the dealership, like you say it's not super volatile or even that fast acting but given some time it works wonders. The same stuff is sold by Mercury Marine by the name of Power Tune, Briggs and Stratton and OMC have sold the same thing but I don't know if they still do anymore.
