GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR

Postby kit980 » Sun Mar 16, 2014 8:47 am

Hello everyone. I just installed the GPDS-H02 Gear shift light indicator on my 2012 Goldwing. As you can see I got the Blue display. The thing works Great. It is easy to program and I am thru guessing which gear I am in. I bought it from Blue Monkey Motorsports, Inc off of E-Bay For $159.99 Priority mailing included. I could not find it cheaper even on their website. It comes with a 2 year warranty. The work came from taking the Left half of the shelter off so that I could put the display behind the left speaker grill. :)

I just assumed all Goldwings had this... My 83 does - even my 82 Suzuki GS1100GK did
My wife is the greatest - she won't let me sell my bike - I'm less grumpy when I ride...

Nope. Only the 83 GL1100 with digital dash, and GL1200's with digital dash. All other Goldwings do not have it (except for my GL1500, as I built one myself!).

I'd be in the wrong gear all the time then... 20 some years of a gear indicator.

It's a little more complex than just a simple indicator: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=10172&start=75#p50777

I orderedthe healtech gear indicator that plugs into the diagnostics socket for my 2008 Goldwing. I personally think it is either crap or it is not set up correctly. In OD or 5th gear it continuously shows F alternating with 5. In other gears the F comes up regularly. I cannot return it as i live in South Africa and it took considerable time to get it here.

I had the same problem. The problem was the indicator. The warranty is good for 2 years. I had no problem with them replacing it. It works great.

Thanx for that. My problem is I live in South Africa. By the time I have mailed it back and paid for their mailing costs, I may just as well try to remember which gear I am in.Wish Honda would actually think of their flagship as much as we, the riders, think of it and integrate this feature (mechanically as this would show all the time) into their bikes. They have not improved one little thing since 2012 and Garmin in South Africa cannot even supply a nav card for the GPS. In this country we could do with a pothole detector as well. I believe google's new little car has that!!!!
