Show Chrome Driving Lights

Postby GBKid » Tue Jun 21, 2016 7:07 am

Two weeks ago I replaced the timing belts on my '89 GL1500 with the help of the instructions in the "How-To Articles" section of this site. The instructions were outstanding and everything went well without a snag. Thank you!
While I had it apart, I decided to install a set of Show Chrome Driving Lights in the lower cowling knock-outs. Instead of using the mounting brackets fastening screws requiring the drilling of holes through the cowling pieces, I used JB Weld Plastic Weld to attach the mounting brackets, which is an instructions option, and let it dry overnight before proceeding further with the installation. The appearance is cleaner and much better looking than using the fastener screws. Easy install as the factory wiring harnesses were already there to plug the lights into.
I highly recommend these driving lights, first to improve your visibility to be seen by other motorists, and also they greatly improve nighttime driving visibility.

Nice neat installation. Following the directions here, I was surprised how easy changing the timing belts was, when I did mine.

I need to change my belts, and that is a very clean light install, I was thinking of getting lights for my 88, this is good.
