ASTA 3/8" DR Long Spark plug socket long reach tool

Post by wingdings » Wed Dec 21, 2016 10:13 am

Hi - Forks - just bought - this smart little spark plug tool - ASTA A-PT18 3/8" DR LONG SPARK PLUG SOCKET 18MM X 250MM LONG REACH WRENCH TOOL - its the nuts !! for removing Goldwing spark plugs -( see pics below !! ) you can buy from ebay - - eBay item number:
121807275258 - defo no problem with the tool makes spark plug removal a joy to do to !! - the long reach means it does not get snarled up in the pipes and stuff and gives you enough reach away from the plug holes to get a wrench on no problem at all !! and at £10.45 well worth it too !!

As you can see the tool clears well away from the bike - so making a ratchet wrench easy too place and use too !!

The end of the tool has a grip - so making finger tightening more easy too

Defo worth having in your tool box for Christmas !!!! - http://www.asttools.co.uk/new-products.html

While that's nice why not just use a standard plug socket and a 25mm racket extension shaft that can be used for other things as well when one needs a longer reach on a ratchet/socket??
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

with this tool you can fit a torque wrench on the end and get your spark plug torque down to the right spec - 12 ft pounds or 16 newton metres the tool make sure you clear the bike total ... ( see pics below )

However - Each to there own methods after all we are all different and we have our own way of doing things - Yes ?? ...

Interesting tool.
Wonder if that socket could be used as a secret stash for emergency money? :)

25mm? We live in the U.S. and use 3" and 6" extensions around these parts :P

No. Because you'd have already spent that money on this tool. You could, though, hit someone on the head with it and take their emergency money and hide it in your tool. Hell, you could probably take all the cash on them and their friends and family and hide in in this tool.
I'll stick with my 3/8 drive extension that I use every day, anyway. I don't need a tool with this much volume to hide all the cash I've taken from unconscious folks, their friends and family. I could fit all of it into a normal spark plug socket. ;)
