Back From My Trip

Postby cbx4evr » Wed Jul 04, 2012 5:53 pm

Well I've been back from our 16 day trip into the USA for a few days. My butt isn't missing the saddle. We had a great time and logged about 4000 miles tripping around the NW states. Got as far south as the Redwood Forest in CA.

Tech tip - If you have less than 60,000 miles on your Goldwing 1500 service your speedo cable. That's the mileage that my cable broke at, about half way through our trip. I wasn't able to find one in stock at any Honda dealers. Cruise and self-cancel signals don't work unless there is a speed indicated. Sure missed that cruise especially when I got back into Alberta.

So here is a teaser picture of one of the awesome roads we found:

"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

The Redwoods are something to see alright but hard to photograph. Putting a person in front of a Redwood is like putting them in front of a wall. These things are so huge it's hard to capture on a photo. Driving the highway completely lined and shaded by trees was beautiful.
