Just wanted to make sure everyone knows of the Smoky Mountain Ride-In June 18-22 in Brydon City, NC. The web site for it is here: http://www.smokymountainridein.com/ with good info on it and associated rides, parking lot gatherings and other general trouble to get into. I'll be leading a sponsored ride to Athens and back on the 20th. This was started because a bunch of folks were coming to Knoxville durring the Honda Hoot, but not going to the Hoot - instead they were joining rides lead by locals on the great roads in the area. When the Hoot was canceled, one was vacationing in Bryson City and thought it would be a great location to have a replacement gathering. This will be the fifth one, and they keep getting better! Now, there won't be anyone hitting you up to join anything, and the only requirement for he rides is to show up with good equipment, empty bladder and full tank. Yes, most of them are users of the GL1800RIDERS forum, but not all are on 1800s. Some are even on HDs! We have no official host hotel, just find a bed (or camp) in the area. Many great mom-and-pop places there. There is no charge, and the signup is just for special meals for planning and to get a headcount. Please check out the web page!
