If you haven't done it already, lube up that final drive. Don't want that drying out and wearing on a long trip. You'll have a fantastic time!

Thanks for the advice. We're having a retired Honda Service Manager/Mechanic give it a good 'once over' before we leave!

Where are you headed?

Leaving Florida for North Carolina and Tennessee, then back to Florida. Going to do some mountain roads, then back to the flat lands!

I have one suggestion, probably just superstition, but here it goes anyway. Have faith in your ride. Don't HOPE it will make the trip, KNOW it will make the trip. Worrying about what could go wrong with the bike will distract you from the enjoyment of the trip. That said, Have a great time!
You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape!

If you want to kill a few hours reading a fantastic story, have a read through this thread - the guy took 6 months off and rode a GL1200 30,000 miles all over North America, including Alaska. He wrote up the whole story and included a ton of pictures.
