Trip next week from SLC to Baltimore

Postby danlundwall » Tue May 20, 2014 7:48 pm

:D hello all. :D

I am planning on heading to Baltimore next week keeping to I-80 till I hit Cleavland, then down through Pittsburgh and on to Baltimore. I just changed my timing belts and the oil/oil filter as well as the coolant. I have good tires (new last year) and am going to change out all of my brake pads.

Anything else I should be watching out for?

I can hardly wait!!!!!

Fuel filter and fuel lines maybe? Air filter? How old are the spark plugs? Condition of your battery? Sounds like your good to go. Have a great trip and ride safe!

Thanks for reminding me.... When I changed the timing belts I also put new plugs in. I put a new KN air filter on last year and I also am replacing the fuel filter... So I think I'm all set :-)

Because of traffic on I80in Ill, In, and Ohio I would elect to drop down I74 at Davenport, to I70thru Indy, and across to Pa turnpike, get off at Somerset and continue on I70. Wish I could ride to SLC again, I did it from Lexington Ky 4 years ago in 32 hours on my Venture!

Are you on a time schedule, because that is going to be a lot of interstate. I would try to avoid most of it especially around Ohio and WV. I would also drop south but would probably come down to Rt 50 to cross WV and into Maryland and then pick a back way into Baltimore.

Great suggestions everyone. I'm definitely going to do some site seeing on my way there.
