Let me ask you this. When you cross over into Canada is it your intention to get to Dawson Creek as quickly as possible or are you more for a leisurely scenic ride? If it's speed you are after then the route you chose is probably the best one although it has it's disadvantages. It's not very scenic and once you hit south of Calgary it's very busy right through Edmonton. There is overpass construction on it between Leduc and Edmonton which can cause quite a bit of congestion. It's a highway I prefer to stay off of when I am riding the bike. Speed limit is 70 mph but few drive it at that.

My suggestion would be to come into Canada at Chief Mountain (Highway 17 US/ Highway 6 Canada), head north on Hiighway 6, west on Highway 3 and then north on 22. Highway 22 is a beautiful ride till about Cochrane where it straightens out. Highway 22 will take a few jogs to the west on other highways but you can take it to Mayerthorpe where you will connect to Highway 43. You will have no problem finidng gas, food, accomodation or camping on that route.

"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

Thanks for the input. No once we leave GNP we are on a leisurely ride to Coldfoot.
congestion is what we would like to avoid if possible and you kept us out of some of that.
Thank You
