I like having a destination but with plenty of time to get there and no specific time to be back. But I think I could load up and just go.
Figure out where I wanted to go after I was already on the road. I do that when I'm just riding around locally all the time. Why not do it for a week or so? :D

When we're NOT hitting the flea market, almost every Sunday ride we'll pick a direction and just go.
In that ride if an interesting road crops up, I'll take it. Interesting means, lots of trees, hills, "Rustic Roads" or especially that yellow diamond SNAKE sign. Found quite a few hidden gems in these near flat lands up here.

I belonged to a club for a short time, big mistake, that would occasionally have what they called an "Annie Oakley" ride. They would draw numbers, then #1 would start the ride in any direction they chose. They would lead for X miles, then #2 would take over and so on. The first one was interesting, we ended up on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. From then on people started sticking to roads they knew.

I need to go somewhere. The bike is all ready to go. Today I loaded it up. Everything except my meds, clothes and me.
My riding partner isn't getting off til later this month but I'm getting tired of waiting.

I can go again later this month if/when he takes off work.

So oldzxrider, you are still a-waitin' on that cousin to put up or shet up, huh? I have used this method of trip planning quite often over the years. About half the time, I have a destination, but usually on the return trip it is just go anywhere on the way home, with a whenever I get there state of mind. I like finding new places where I can meet new people, and find new and different things to eat. I guess I need to ride down to South America soon, as I am running out of possibilities on the eats end of things. Not much left of choice in North America. Heck, I have even had possum. Howze that fer a Canuck boy.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

I don't know if I'd eat possum or not. Maybe try a little someday. I have had ate raccoon, rattlesnake, buffalo, elk and smoked goat.
I'd really like to try antelope. I've been told they have a strong sage taste, but still like to try it. :D
I'm about to take off on a trip (by myself, again) but I don't have a specific destination. I'm thinking Montana but I'm flexible. Going to get away from this hot, humid weather.

 And then it's gone!

Won't be leaving on any trip today. Weather radar says a storm is moving into the area. I'll ride in the rain if I have to but I don't have to today.

Hmmmm....maybe that 911 is a warning?

The coincidence meant something. Like...
A sign from upstairs.
Go a different direction.
Wait for someone.
FREE bike wash.
Need a shower.

It's all in what one interprets at any given moment. 8-)

I too have eaten all of those, and antelope, and even armadillo. It tasted just like venison (white tailed deer) to me, but was somewhat stringy. Maybe was not a young animal. I am from the prairies originally, so have shot both antelope and prairie dog in large quantities over the years. Of the wild game animals, I really preferred Elk. Caribou is a very dark meat, lot like Buffalo. I can name some things I have never eaten. Cougar or Mountain Lion has not yet had the privilege of adorning my plate. Neither has wolf, although I have experienced puppy dog stew. I am not really a fan of eating carnivores, but have been known to.

Not leaving today and the rain never got here. Don't know if it was a sign from above but my wife reminded me her sister was going to buy her lunch at the Golden Corral today.
That's where we are going right now! Not as good as a motorcycle trip but not a bad consolation prize for putting it off one day. :D

I'd have to be real hungry to eat a carnivore or a scavenger I think. Back years ago I discovered I could eat things I would rather pass on now.
It was a situation where you ate because you knew it was safe to eat and I was hongry!

Something to consider when giving directions to a non-local.
The non-local can't see the picture you have in you head as you are giving directions.

Leaving this morning! :D
Getting a late start, but going to ride interstate north til I'm out of the local area and then.... :?:
Maybe turn left at Omaha?
Maybe sooner maybe later but I'm going to...I don't know. But my Wal-Mart phone will start telling me I'm out of my data usage area real soon.
Adios! :D

Right now I'm taking a rest break at the first rest area on I-29 north of Kansas City. Surprised I was able to get on here. So far not too terribly hot.
I'm thinking if I went to L.A. , I would be crazy. :D

Be surprised if this gets posted.

Shizam! It worked, and I'm on here again in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Started raining so I got a room. So now the sun comes out.
Oh well, rode hard for a while (not iron butt hard) but hard for me.
Got tacos for supper and if I'm frugal, I may have a taco or two for breakfast.
Lots of Harley folks headed to Sturgis. Most seem to be in a hurry. It doesn't start til Monday, but I suppose they have their reasons.

It worked again. They'll catch me pretty soon.
I bought a bunch of tacos so I could have them for supper later on. Just wanted to get back to my room, unload the bike and get the cover over it so it'll be nice & dry in the morning.

I been drinking water all day but I got a Dr. Pepper at Taco Bell and oh that was sooo good.
Going to hit I-80 west tomorrow, I think. See what I find out that direction.
:D

I'm not sure what they were made of, didn't taste too good the next morning, even after I nuked them.
Anyhow, I'm surprised I'm not out of my data usage area yet. Don't know what's going on but there was a big convoy of military vehicles headed west on I-80 escorted by federal police and helicopters.
The trucks being escorted looked like Brinks armoured trucks but they were painted army green. Reckon Obamy is fixing to send Iran some more cash?

Rode a lot further than I wanted to. Clouds and rain kept me moving. Anyway, I'm in my tent in Chugwater, Wyoming just a little north of Cheyenne.
Sunshine and partly cloudy skies! :D

Lets see if this one makes it.

Lets see if this one makes it.

You'll be seeing more of them military vehicles rolling this year. A customer of mine got his orders to head overseas AGAIN. This time it's a little island east side of Saudi Arabia. I read several different underground news and there's a 'multi strategic' build up of personnel from a few countries accruing. I've been informed NOT TO go into details... so keep an eye out for 'X' to happen in a couple months.
Whatever military action starts will overlap this election, it's part of the overall Gov-Dem plan. :x

BUT HEY, YOU RIDE SAFE & ENJOY THAT RIDE!!! :P

Before my battery goes dead, I'll see if I can post I'm at Park City, Montana for tonight.
Been cold and hot today. And just got some entertainment. Couple guys in a parking lot across the street doing donuts in a black Mustang GT. Ah, they're back. Started doing a burn out and killed it!
Uh-oh! Got it restarted, did a big smokey burn out and now he talking to the local deputy sheriff.
I been there & done that. Also in a Mustang, years ago...and a Roadrunner...and a Chevelle SS...
