That's a great route!
Just a word of caution while riding twisty SR 21 ... watch out for deer, there's tons of them all over the road, even around noon. :!:

I do that loop at least a couple times a year. It's got some great twisties, especially going over the pass between Idaho City and Lowman. Dusty Boots is right though. You do have to watch out for deer, and rocks on Hwy 17 between Lowman and Garden Valley.

If you do the loop, there is a good lunch stop in Crouch - the Dirty Shame Saloon.
