New Years ride

Postby scratcho » Sun Jan 01, 2012 12:47 pm

Went for a short ride toay. After taking down the Christmas decorations I started up the Goldwing and took a short ride around the neighborhood. 50 degrees felt good but started to get a little damp. Now the weather is taking a big change, they say 6 to 10 inches of snow over the next few days. So the bike is back in hibernation, and I am preparing to order braided brake lines and speed bleeders to install before spring. Have a safe and happy New Year. Dennis

We went out as well. It started to rain so we had to cut it short for fear of it freezing. Still, nice to get out.

Hey Bogator, sorry I missed the ride. I got called in to work night shift that evening. Didn't think I would make it back before time to go to work. Our night shifts start at 6pm.(12 hrs) Glad you enjoyed the ride and food.

Well it was beautiful here in VA on Sunday. Our group got togethere for a ride, about 125 smiles, had 11 bikes and 20 riders / co riders. Good friends, good miles and goood food. The best way to spend a day.

It's my father's Suzuki quad. You can see me pulling it out of the ice a couple years ago here:

The suspension on it is absolutely incredible. It rides so smooth - I thought the video was going to be so jerky that it would be unwatchable, but it came out quite well.

It was about 20 minutes all told. I was wondering if I would lose the use of my legs before I managed to get it out! My waterproof boots held the ice cold water in very well, and I had no feeling left in my legs or feet by the end of it. :)

My wife and I have both decided that our next home will be somewhere with 12 months a year of riding weather. :)

I must say it is VERY nice waking up to the Sun shining every day!
