Honda Shadow 600

Post by robb » Fri Feb 05, 2016 2:20 pm

Finally set for next project, my 2002 Shadow 600 with 1675 original miles. Gave to my daughter as starter bike but has sat under cover in her garage for years. Carbs need rebuild so my intent is to remove and go with 1 40mm cv carb. Stock exhaust will be upgraded to 2.5" HardKrome double wall pipes. And it will be fit with a set of HD Police fiberglass bags. Will probably add a fairing with stereo, but have not decided on a particular unit. It will be a low rider for solo riding only. Then it might be a 3-400 mile day bike.

30 and spoiled rotten, more so now that I have a granddaughter. She used to ride 15-20 miles on Sunday, but since she moved away less than 10 in 5 years.
Bike is dry and paint looks new so it will stay black. New tires and battery in prep to ride but rough idle was more than acceptable. She wants another baby more than the bike. Five minutes and it was running good enough to ride. Should be worth the $2400 paid when new.

Thank you. Just don't get to see them as much as would like to. You would think that $1000 iphone could send some pictures, good thing I still got a dog.

Know what you mean, our 15 year old yorkie died November 21 , my wife's birthday. January this year we adopted a rescued 6 year old yorkie. He is doing good now.

Mounted a set of Harley bags to the Shadow. Using Dana mounts it went smooth and now have my wanting to mount a fairing. Bought an aftermarket with 6x9 cutouts for a customers Road King and jokingly fit to Shadow. Fit better than one would think. With stereo and speakers it was just under 20 pounds, so I'm thinking it should be a reasonable amount even for a Shadow 600.

I think I'm through for now. Could not resist the front lower fairing, makes riding with shorts a joy. Vents work well directing warm air for cool mornings. Could not believe fuel mileage, but it is stable at 65-67 mpg. Makes those 150 mile runs doable with a 2.5 gallon tank. Yes that's the fairing from my stolen 2001 Harley Ultra Classic equipped with Sony i-pod stereo, 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. Covered center with bag but speakers behind have slotted section and provide plenty of sound.
