My first Harley

Post by evolbob » Sat Mar 04, 2017 8:28 am

I'm 51 and after riding Hondas all my life (I currently own 2 Goldwings; an 85 Aspencade 1200 and a 94 Aspencade 1500) I purchased a 2000 Harley Davidson Low Rider. Extremely low miles 28k and very well maintained, I feel like I got a great deal at $4500. My definition of riding the Goldwing versus the Low Rider to my wife the other day was that the Goldwing is subtle, soft, and smooth whereas the Low Rider is boisterous, rough around the edges and a punch in the face! Man, what a beast that Harley is. So looking forward to some short trips on her this summer!

Too many others to list

Sounds like you did get a really good deal.
I went from a 2002 Low Rider to an '86 GL1200 and then to my current '96 GL1500.
The HD was fun to ride single, but the wife prefers the comfort of the GW (it has a back seat).
I found that I like to take longer trips, so the GW just made more sense for me.
I wish I still had it for playing around.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

I think I will hold onto both the 1500 and the Harley. My wife is the same way, she loves the Goldwing so gotta keep her. Took the Harley out today. Brutal fun
