Canyon Dancer tiedowns

I brought my new Tour home on Saturday. While getting my walk around I asked about how to tie the GW down, since I have a hydraulic lift on my motorhome I'll need to secure it to. He really had no idea, but recommended Canyon Dancer tiedowns for the front end. Ordered a set from Revzilla and now that I've looked at them I have serious reservations. If you've never heard of them, they have hard cups that fit over the handlebar hand grips with a strap between and loops on the outside to place a tiedown hook into. My concern is the vibration weight at the ends of the grips. The instructions say to be careful tightening as that long bolt holding the weights on isn't hard to bend. They even suggest removing the weights when using the product. After a test fit I agree with them. One good bounce and that screw is going to bend. Removing and reinstalling the weights seems like a pita, especially if I decide to replace them with helmet locks. Anyone have experience using these things on a bike with weights on the handlebars?

Don't tie it down by the handlebars. Don't know if there is a suitable place on the '18s to tie them down.

With the heavy-duty front suspension on the new GL1800, I would try to find a solid piece on that to tie it down - ratchet the front wheel solidly into place, and let the bike's suspension do its job absorbing the bumps.
