77 gl1000 idle problems

Postby rickynixa » Sun Mar 04, 2012 9:25 pm

ok i just bought this bike and had no idle at all! i removed the idle screws from carbs and sprayed cleaner through while still on bike. it worked great idled just fine but went on drive tonight a idle stuck around 4000 rpms it will drop if i force the engine to drop by holding brake and releasing clutch but will just stick next throttle hit! can some one tell me if these screws are supposed to have orings on them cause pretty sure that might be my problem. problem started day after i cleaned them and did not ride the night i cleaned them. i already checked the plungers for sticking and intake seals for leaks. thanks

solved my own question when i pulled out screws again i must of not waited long enough cause i think the carb cleaner swelled the orings and they just fell apart coming out this time. but if anyone can tell me a part number or dimensions of these o-rings that would be awsome thanks

There is only 1 idle adjustment screw, the ones you took out might be the air/fuel mixture.
