My new to me 78 GL1000

Postby MikerBiker » Fri Jun 22, 2012 12:55 am

I got a GL1000 back in January, and have just now been getting into it a little. I can tell the carbs are in need of some tlc. When I get on the gas or even if I rev it at idle, it will cough a bit, and then catch up. I was told try to put some B12 thru it, and sync the carbs, anyone here have any other recommendations? Maybe just doing a rebuild on them? Thanks!

Rebuilds need careful attention to detail as these Klein's are not simple but operate well when set up right. See Randall Washington aka Randakk for a greatly detailed video and rebuild kits or Pistol Pete if you are not up to the task. If the bike has not been setting, maybe some Seafoam will help. Sounds to me like maybe your slides are sticky.
