Oil coming out my exhaust

Postby neilslater63 » Sun Feb 17, 2013 7:53 pm

I just changed timing belt on 1977 GL1000 and was driving it when I heard a funny sound and thought my timing belt had broke again. It didn't but white smoke started coming out starboard exhaust. It is running fine but when it is running sitting still there is oil pouring out the exhaust and smoke coming out the tailpipe. I don't think the oil is going into the cylinder. I might have overheated it since my temp gauge doesn't work and I didn't get all the anti-freeze back in. Is there an oil seal that might have blown out? Please help. It felt so good to be back on my bike and now it is broke again. I don't dare ride it leaking so much oil.

If it's white smoke, I thought that indicated water(blown head gasket)????????????
