Throttle valves.

Postby gnarlyroad » Wed Apr 07, 2010 7:29 pm

Can anyone point me in the right direction on re+re throttle valves. Can't properly synch the carbs without fixing these. Their either sticking open or really loose on the pins. Is there a way to replace the pin or install some kind of seal?

Actually I'm pretty certain there isn't anyway to fix these throttle valves. So how cruisal are they to the over all performance of the bike if they are off only a bit. is this a common problem, is my only way to correct it finding(good luck ) a perfect set of carbs.

Honestly, when it comes to GL1000 carbs, I would refer you to the guru of such thing, over at Randakk's site: http://www.randakk.com

He has done so much work with GL1000 carbs and GL1000's in general. If he doesn't have a kit to fix your problem, then you can be pretty sure that it can't be fixed.

Is it the slides that are sticking?
