Found part of the problem

Postby gnarlyroad » Mon Apr 12, 2010 9:46 am

Finally got my bike with the rebuilt carbs back from the mechanic. After seeing all the rust from the tank caked on the inside of the float bowls and various other parts I'm not surprised I was having idle problems. Now I just need to do something about the rust in the tank. Also going to install an extra in line fuel filter, repaint the faux :D tank and side covers. Was wondering if anyone has or knows where I can find the paint codes for the blue sirius paint, which was one of the original colour schemes for this year.
The bike is running excellent and I certainly hope to keep it that way. :D

Yup, go to the "Manuals" section of the site and download the "Honda Goldwing Paint colors and codes" document, it should be listed in there.

A rusty tank will continue to foul newly refurbished carbs until you clean it or have it cleaned, doesn't matter how many in line filters you install ---IMHO

For total restoration, the original paint is OK, but to each his own. I heard that it truly isn't yours until you customize it. 8-)
