changing rims with tires

i can't do it myself so if there is an owner of a gl1000 with experiance changing out rims with tires, and lives in the louisville ky area let me know when and how much .

You may want to clarify your message. Are you saying that you need someone to help you replace the tires that are currently on your existing rims or, are you saying that you have another set of tires and rims that you'd like put on your bike. If it's the latter, are the rims and tires correct for your bike or are they a modification?

i have replacement rims/w tires they came off a 1979 gl1000 . i just don't trust myself to do the work.

OK, it's now clear what you're trying to do.

While you're waiting for someone from this site to contact you, I suggest you go here, download the shop manual for your '79 (look for: Honda_GL1000_75-79_Service_Manual.pdf (51.61 MB) and read through the sections that explain how to remove/replace the front and rear wheels. It's not difficult and you may find that you can tackle this yourself. However, if you're still unsure, it's best to let someone else do the job. If no one here is within your area, I suggest that you take your bike to a local M/C shop. This is not a complicated job and, baring any issues with your replacement wheels, can be done in approximately 1 hour.
