Fuel flow from wrong place ?

Postby Forcefed » Sat Apr 24, 2010 4:08 pm

Hello there gentlemen,

'78 1000

My question is,

to what do i owe my attention when fuel flows freely from the 3 jet holes in each carb bore until the fuel tank is empty ?

... removing the bowls and watching, shows the fuel coming out from around the small aluminum plug area, rather than the needle/seat ... with bowl attached, the fuel flows out of the 3 aforementioned jet holes in the bore.

Did this just start all of a sudden ?-- with each carb leaking ,wondering if it may be the seals between each individual carb and the plenum .The plenum seal may also be the culprit if so the air box would be flooding also
If you have it apart that far to replace gaskets and seals, might as well rebuild the rack
Randakk sells a excellent kit and video , you may be a candidate for both
That much gas has contaminated your crankcase oil
Just my opinion
Cheers terry

Sounds like your float needles aren't closing..coudl be bad needles, bad float settings..clogged seat..
