Anyone got advice on how to best remove?
Manual says it should just pull out.
They can be tough to get out, particularly if they've been in there a while.
The first time I took the flange out on my 1100 it was in there good. I used a piece of wood (to avoid damaging soft aluminum) and used it to pry at the edge, a bit at a time. I did one side, then the opposite side, then 90 degrees from that, then the opposite side from that - bit by bit, to make sure it came out straight. It took a bit of effort, but it eventually came out.
Once I cleaned the pins and the holes up, it went back in with very little effort.
