Anybody know of a place that sells piston ring sets for a GL1000?

Not off the top of my head.
If you absolutely can't find them, remember that the same year in the Honda Civic used the same size pistons.
Actually I ordered a full set for the 78 Civic for my 78 gl1000. From Napa.I think it was $40 for the set of 4 piston and oil rings.
Research this first tho.
I found that rod bearings were 0.020" or so wider, the diameter was OK.

I got the Civic rings and they seem to be fine, same size both ways. Thanks for the tip.

Cool.Im glad it matched. It seems that many parts are manufactured for multiple applications.
It's just near impossible to cross reference the stuff.

Keep notes.Post them here.

It wouldn't supprise me at all.
Absolutely no guarantee.I/the other guy did have a match.Research first or just buy them and find out.
OEM rings are hard to find and If I remember right, back when I did mine( 2005) they were about $40 per piston.

There is a growing crossover parts list for the early GL here:

Reported is that Hasting #6116 fit a GL1000.
