electrical question

Postby 78wing » Sun Jul 27, 2014 10:55 am

I have a ammeter on my 78 that shows a discharge when the engine is running at all rpm's and returns to zero with it turned off.
Anyone have any ideas what to start checking to why this happens?

You'll need a volt/ohm meter eventually but first look at the 3 yellow wires nex to the battery. They tend to corrode/overheat.
There's plenty of reading about "gl1000 not charging" in the search section.
