starting problems

Post by handyandy62 » Thu Oct 16, 2014 4:00 pm

I have a 1977 GL1000. If I start it every couple of days, it starts right up. If it sits a week or longer it takes a long time for it to start, almost like it ran out of gas. Any ideas?

The fuel in the carb bowls evaporates after sitting those few days. It takes some cranking for the fuel pump to refill them.

Mine too.the best cure is a electric fuel pump and electronic ignition.
