1978-1980 different rear wheels/brakes interchange?

my 78wing was needing a rear differential plus the rear caliper so then i bought a 1980 wing got it as a parts bike but now i notice the rear calipers are different and the axle bolt is bigger wider on the 1980? what will interchange please help,really not sure which of the two bikes im going for

I hate to say it but I don't think the 80 will fit at all. If you'd gotten a 75-79 it should have fit.

thanks Raycw ,i have all the luck :cry: crying, if i take out the complete swingarm off the 80 wonder if it'll fit the 78 with my luck no

Fitting the 1100 swing arm to the 1000. Yes, it can be done. No, it isn't easy. No, it is not a direct swap. Requires mods to the frame and major surgery to the swing arm.

Find yourself another 75-79 rear drive. They are all the same.
