What are people using for the 80 GW's in the way of a tail pipe? How easy is it to change your self... or I should say myself LOL.

tail pipe?. 80 Gl is one solid piece..requires cutting off muffler at the end of the header to install different..muffler..some use Harley mufflers..they are easily found cheap..require new hangers to be made.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83

Thats what I did on my project 84 1200. Paid $35 on Ebay (plus freight) for 2 nearly new mufflers and pipes from a 1200 Harley that had been pulled for performance pipes. (Loud) I used my recipricating saw, and oxy/acetaline welder, grinder etc. and some bar stock steal and made 2 into one exhaust systems for both sides. Cut the old rotten muffler off at the header and welded new pipes onto the original header, made hangars, etc. Took some time and effort. The original carb jetting seems to work fine and the bike is relatively quite. If you don't weld you'd probably be ahead to buy a used sytem on Ebay or one of the new aftermarket sytems over payin welding shop time.
