Postby tylerlaine10 » Wed Jul 29, 2009 6:13 am

we just recently installed new belts on my 76 gl1000.... lined up all the marks and found TDC....put it all together and now it won't start. Ran before new belts were installed. It back fires a little and cranks over, just wont' fire. any suggestions?

Are you sure of your line up, did you check for the T-1 mark in the timing window, you can line up crank and cam and still be 180 out as the crank spins twice for each cam turn. Just a thought
you can go exactly .4 miles with the petcock turned off.

Olderwing is correct. Your timing is 180 deg. out.
