Air Cutoff Valve Connections GL1000

Postby BirdDogICT » Sat Jul 03, 2010 10:20 pm

I pulled the carbs out a few weeks ago to clean out contamination from a rusty tank, and was reinstalling them today when I noticed that there is no vacuum hose for the Air Cutoff Valve. I can't find a vacuum hose routing diagram, and assume that it connects to the intake runner/manifold, but can't find a port.

Also, just below where the Air Cutoff Valve sits on the air intake body, there is a hose that connects to a what seems to be a fuel overflow on the bowl of carb #1. Is this correct?

Any advice is welcome.

The vacuum hose goes to the little port on the left underside, next to the float bowl, of the #1 carb. The port underneath the air cut-off valve should have a short hose attached ,leading to the slow air jet coming out of the brass fitting on the right side of the carb body.

Leanjoe,

I very much appreciate your help.

While at work today, it finally dawned on me what I'd done...the slow air mix fitting had come loose from the carb, and I connected the air cutoff valve hose to it, thinking that it was an L fitting. Kept bugging me that they were different size hoses, and it didn't make much sense the way they were connected. Sometimes I get tripped up by the most boneheaded simple mistakes.

Thanks again.
