GL1000 Silencers now for sale!

Postby NHCPanels » Mon Jul 27, 2015 8:57 am

Hi all,

You may remember many months ago the announcement that we would be re-manufacturing the exhaust silencers for the GL1000..

Finally, we are pleased to say they are ready!

The silencer can itself will be available within the next week to ten days. The header pipes are also in production, but will not be completed for another few months at least.

Prices as follows:
Complete assembly = 980 GBP plus VAT at 20%
Silencer only = 740 GBP plus VAT at 20%

This price does not include carriage.

The full system price is a pre-order special offer. You only pay for the silencer which will be shipped straight away, then when the headers are ready you pay the difference and we send them out. The full system price will be more than this when it is officially released.

If anyone would like to order, ask any further questions or get a quote on carriage, feel free to email at info@nhcpanels.co.uk, or give us a call on 01977 555211.

Does the buyer have to pay the VAT if they are not domiciled in the UK or EU? If you have to ship in two lots, that is two lots of freight to pay - and we all know that there is a "flag fall" for freight that has to be overcome. Am I correct in this assumption?

Very, very nice exhaust...the final result is exceeding my expectations!
My congratulations to NHC Panels.........
and thanks that you had the courage to serve the Gold Wing community with a new part that we are really missing more and more for some time already.
I wish you a lot of succes with your new product........initial sales results will will take some time imo but finally a lot of people will be happy in the nearest future that there is a source where they can find the "most typical GL1000 part", of which the availability can be strongly missed by many GL1000 enthousiasts!
Some people find the price "a lot of money" and I can understand that.
But for me it is 100% clear that you can not offer such a complicated exhaust system for a Walmart discounted price........in general rare mufflers are very expensive and this kind of manufacturing proces is a difficult. complicated and costly one......
Furthermore.......... on the other hand, here in the Netherlands a complete "motorcycleshop-barnfind" NOS OEM GL1000 exhaust system was offered a couple of months ago by a smaller independant GW-motorshop at a fixed price of $ 2.475,-....... it was sold within 3 weeks and I personally know that several people from the Dutch GL1000-scene were considering to buy it (as I did, purely interested to purchase it as a solid financial investment with an excellent ROI, like some types of Rolex watches), but finally were too late.........it was gone........
There is one thing I am 100% sure about it......the next new NOS GL1000 muffler system that would appear on the worldwide internet-market (if even available, I strongly doubt about that) will be offered at a least 10% higher price than the latest one sold for $ 2.475,- and most probabely it will be purchased by a European customer within 2-3 weeks.........

Regards, Ruud

How difficult the situation with 2nd hand available GL1000 mufflers is can bee seen by the here under showed mufflers of which only a handfull additional ones are worldwide available/offered on the internet.........

Kind of makes the high dollar Mac exhausts look like a steal, huh? Being three times the price...
Only market I see for these are fairly wealthy European collectors who want a showroom bike that's not ridden.
$342 US for a pair of headers?

Well....eeeeh....rather narrow minded assumption not meeting the true reality imo......
But yes indeed.......quite a number of "the average Joe-income" European GW-bikers generally prefer to keep the GL1000 in an original condition and not to modify it in a motley collection of different parts .........

Had to cost a fortune to tool this exhaust up, those are big parts for stamping. Really pleased to see someone did it. Not for the average rider, but if someone wants the stock new look, this is actual a good deal.
