Clutch Grinding only when running

Postby ChristopherStalken » Fri Jul 31, 2015 7:25 pm

I am currently going through this 75 gl1000 I got a few weeks ago. I posted another thread about a separate issue I am having, but this one seems to be more serious. When I have the bike in an off position, the bike will go through the gears just fine. However, when the bike is running I get a grinding when I try to shift into 1st (and 2nd).

Thoughts on this? Like I said, when it is off, I can click through the gears no problem.

Perhaps the cable needs to be adjusted for the running condition? Seems like a good first try.

Yes, adjust the clutch, it's probably dragging a little. The clutch should pull easy too, if it's old or rusty, the cable can get sticky and look for fraying near the lever.
