1975 GL 1000 exhaustion mistery

Postby aseligman@uol.com.br » Sun Jan 24, 2016 11:31 am

Hi, is there any 1975 model that comes factory made with 1976 exhaustion? Mine seems to have this strange combination. And appears to be stock.

If I didn't know better sounds like this is a setup to a joke.
:D

OH... ok, got it after rereading a couple times.
1975 model with 1976 exhaust.
Always a possibility yours was a 1/2 year crossover.

New first year models have a tendency of quick product changes.
Consider them, silent upgrades.

Taste testing as the miles flow, souring as that acid grows.
And don't flirt with dirt or darkened oil, all the faster your engine will spoil.

sorry for my english. It´s the exhaust (the muffler): it´s not that black and chome model, it´s that all chrome that came from 1976 to 1979. But the frame numer match 1975 year.

No problem on lingo. Everyone has a little fun with everyone.

I know nothing about the earlier models but I do know mid-year changes. You just might have one.
Dig deep for serial numbers and when items changed.

The black 'horseshoe' muffler/silencer was fitted to the 75-77 models. The chrome one was fitted to the 78-79, with different header pipes. The whole systems can be interchanged between years.
