GL1000 timing

Timing marks all line up but cam lobe for points is way off-ideas?

First of all are you aware that there are two sets of timing marks for each cylinder? One with an F and one a straight line, the F mark is the one for static timing and the other to show the proper advance while running. Second there is a centrifugal advance mechanism that might be stuck. I can send you the pages from the factory manual if you need.

Have checked all of those and they are OK

A little history of what has been done to the bike is in order. Has the bike been running or is this a "ran when parked" situation with you trying to get it going again? I ask because it almost sounds like the plate the points are mounted on might be installed upside down. Don't even know if this is possible but that or the points being mounted on the plate wrong.
the cam can't change so it has to be in the points/points plate. :?:

Which timing marks are you talking about, the cam pulley marks or those on the flywheel?
