Running warm/hot 1979 goldwing

I just received some great help regarding clutch adjustment I thought i would try for a second fix
Back in the day i put jumper in for my radiator fan switch for around town etc Once i had the bike running correctly ,can't remember using the switch The toggle is mounted on the top of my dashboard (79 wing) This spring i changed my timing belts ,somehow i knocked the fan switch wires off . Started the bike and went looking for my coat etc ,fan does not come on ,machine over heats. Inspection found wires off ,reattched everything seemed fine On the highway bike ran hot, hotter, at freeway speeds ,fan would not start unless i used jumper toggle Then would not shut off until ignition shut off
Changed the fan switch with new Honda OEM ,faulty switch didn't work as verified by three different people. Tried a GM Geo switch it worked ,the bike ran far too hot for my liking I stole a switch for a GL 1100 ,works in the garage not on the road Bike runs hot, fan will not come on unless i hit the toggle
I have three dashboards and tried them all ,installed a new step down regulator ,new thermostat I don't see oil contamination ,no dripping from the water pump
Could someone help with some corrective actions
