77 windjammer garaged 12 years

Postby dwhite » Sun Aug 29, 2010 7:44 pm

By the way, thanks for all to who helped on my 1100 82i, enjoy riding her. Now for the question, I was given a 1977 windjammer, i don't know if it will even run yet or if it is worth my time to try it. How can i find info on it (engine size), the only tag i can find is the one that has the vin and the year. Will any of the parts interchange with my 82 1100i. Thanks Dave

Windjammer is the name of an aftermarket fairing produced by Vetter - are you saying you have a GL1000 with a Windjammer fairing on it?

Not sure, the vin number is gl1-3002860. Can't find anything labeled on the bike other than the valve covers say honda.

Then what you have is a 1977 GL1000.

There are a few parts that will interchange with your 1100 - not a lot, but a few.
