aftermarket dipstick

Post by ntintruder » Tue Nov 21, 2017 5:17 pm

Picked up a 1976 GL1000. It has a dipstick that protrudes from under the radiator, and was originally sold by J. C. Whitney. It is no longer available and no information on the level of the oil when the crankcase is full so does anybody have any information on this? The little window is useless.

You have to mark the full level on the dipstick yourself with a file or a scribe of some kind.

I have one on my 1977 GL1000. It has max and min marks on it.
