First time poster, first time Goldwing owner!
I'm looking for anyone who has rewired a GL1000 having removed a full fairing kit.
My husband was going to help me, but for various reasons no longer can so I'm on my own.... I've never done anything like this. I have the Haynes manual and the wiring loom diagram and that's it!
Any advice gratefully received.
Have I bitten off more than I can chew?

Had a look at my saved docs. Have the 1100 OEM manual that should give some good information and direction. Large file. I use wetransfer to send these files. PM me with your email address and I will send. Best I can do.

The harness that went to the fairing should just unplug from the bike harness and the original wiring plugs back in where it should be.

Re: Have I bitten off more than I can chew?
If the fairing came with a factory wiring harness it should be easy to disconnect and reconnect the wing wires. I did the same but the fairing wires were a snake pit of wires, It had about 6' of wires to go 2' and the rest was bundled up inside the fairing.I got fed up and cut it all and almost everything went back easy to the original plugs. Much nicer.

Patience is important, there is certainly lots of wires to sort.

Full color schematics are available at NGWclub in their shoptalk section. https://ngwclub.com/forum/page/ST
Scroll to the Bottom of the page ——-75-77 wiring was a little different than 78-79 so pick yours.
It wasn’t available when I did mine so I just starting matching colors and it ended up working. It probably wasn’t perfect, but it worked.
