kick starter

i was reading the classified,an there was kick starter for a 1976 gl 1000. is there a place on the 1978 gl 1000 so it can be kick started? if so where is it located? keep in mind first goldwing

The kick starter was discontinued in the 1978 model.

Honda revise the engine block to add addition noise elimination measures in 1978, and they closed out the port where the former kick lever used to go at that time.

I had a 75 with a kick starter. Never used it to start the engine but it was handy to rotate the engine while making timing adjustments.

If I remember correctly you inserted the kick lever on the left side, near the clutch. The lever stores in the left side cover, there are two clips to hold it.

The kick start was stored inside the right side cover and was held in place by a rubber strap.
