are the headers the same on a 79 as 77 got a new set of pipes off a 79 not working very well yet. :?

They have different part numbers but I have never actually put them together to see what the difference is. They will definitely fir the heads; my guess is the angle of the outlet since the 77 used the horseshoe and the 79 the separate mufflers. You can use the whole system off the 79 though.

You can use the whole system off of the 1100 also, providing they clear your rear wheel at the cross over tube.
The set I have has the cross over removed and plugs welded in where they were.
I prefer that to trying to hold the weight of the complete set of mufflers and headers up under the bike to mount them.
