gl1000 1977 drinking water

I just bought this bike.Just after bought this bike I returned to my house after some miles on break It gone over heated and all water flown out.after it I put coolent on short distence until reached home.any body knows the solution.

First thing to do is check your oil to see if the coolant is getting into the engine. If so then you have a blown head gasket. If not, then start checking for leaks. Water pump, coolant tubes above the engine block, Radiator, cap and hoses.

I had that happen once and it was the fan sending switch not bringing on the fan,
