Thank you so much. I am always all over the internet, trying to learn stuff and this is most helpful. I copied it and have stuck it to my dummy board on my desk. I put stuff up there that I know I need to remember. This will help me at other sites and with my business too. Again, thanks. debs

What kind of browser are you using? How big is your screen? Nobody else is having this problem are they? It's working fine for me.

I have a 17" screen on my lap top, I use Windows internet Explorer, Vista system. All other sites, Classic Boncos,E-Bay, Craigs List, ETC, never a problem getting full pictures, got me stumped. Bob

Can you post a screen shot of what it looks like when you see it?

I just checked on my wife's computer, which has a 22" screen and vista, the pictures are full sized so I guess it's my machine, I'll have to check out my system and see what gives. Thanks Bob

Sometimes when you are only getting 1/2 the picture, it would be the video card/dedicated memory for the computer. You may have a cache or driver issue.

(wow, that sounded like I know what I was talking about, better go back in my corner again)

Boy, this one is new on me. It does the same thing for every picture, regardless of the size?

What version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Unfortunately I don't have any computers left that still run IE7. The oldest version of IE that I have available to me is IE8, and it is displaying them fine (although it doesn't render the menu items properly). Without being able to get it to fail myself, it's pretty tough to diagnose the problem. I'll keep looking...

IE is the bane of web designers existence. Every version works differently, every version has little flaws and gotchas and their own little ways of interpreting web standards. You can make a web site work great and look great in every other browser, then you have to add all kinds of crap like "if running in IE6, do this, but if in IE7, do that, unless you're in IE8 or IE9, in which case do something else" kind of code. It's a nightmare.

Might I make a suggestion...move to a quality browser like Firefox or Chrome. That will solve your problem. :)

I am trying to add photos to my messages and also a new avatar.

I am getting this message - Martek 04:30:13 -1.jpg is an invalid filename. in Red letters.

For the avatar I have tried to reduce the size of the photo down but I can't get it to 200 x 200, even when the size is 12 kb.

I am not a computer person, could it be because I have a Mac computer or Firefox browser?

Rename the file and get rid of the colons, then try again. Colons have a special meaning when writing files.

Tried to post one directly from my computer, but I think it's too big.
Here's one from Photo bucket that has been resized..

I haven't figured out how to get Windows 8 to save a resized photo :(

I've tried for the last two days to get an avatar uploaded and all I get is this:
Could not upload avatar to ./images/avatars/upload/3e3b14cfbff3a9b618f67738aca971e9_1615.jpg.

I've tried different file sizes even one reduced to 200 X 133 pixels.
