The problem starting my GL1000 has been found. When taking the start/kill assembly apart to spray some electrical contact inside I noticed that the start switch looked fried and upon closer inspection the contacts are burned so badly I need to find a new or used switch assembly. Not an easy part to come by either.
Has anyone got a supplier for this type of part? All the web sites I know about don't have one, help!
I could make my own start button, but keeping it original is my wish.
It appears there was a short from missing insulation against the frame to ground. Just enough to make it arc and still work, but it finally bit the big one and now I'm stuck.
Another question, will another year work for this?
