"77" gl1000-DRIVESHAFT, FINAL DRIVE,3 NUTS..

Postby davebonaked51 » Sat Jul 23, 2011 4:02 pm

Hi! , again guys.
Man , i have been having some problems lately , lol!
I was getting ready to take a fast trip around the country side. when i put it in first gear and started to ride off i felt a wiggle in the rear tire. i tried it several times and kept getting that wiggle.
I took a look and seen that two of the three nuts securing the final drive to the swingarm was missing!
does anyone know the size of these nuts? i tried a few i had in my garage and none seemed to fit right.
I just took these pictures. The other night coming home from work i thought i noticed a wiggle when i pulled back on the throttle. I guess i was lucky my gas filter clogged that night.

According to the parts website these are 10mm nuts and if you have a good hardware store you should be able to find them locally, if not this is Honda part number 90308-357-000 for a 1979 Wing.

10mm socket is way to small. a 14mm fit , so is this a 14mm nut?
