sportster exhaust

Postby Johnny z » Wed Jan 18, 2012 8:08 pm

Just picked up a set of sportster exhaust pipes to be used on my 78 gl 1000. I would like to know if anyone can share how they worked out the mounting of theses pipes in relationship to clearing the center stand for the left pipe. If you can share a detailed phot or care to explain it would be appreciated. Thanks :D

Check this post out, this guy built a super clean GL and posted pics of the exhaust that had a similar issue. I think it might help your problem.

Check out this link. The GL1100 owner installed Harley mufflers and overcame the same issues you are asking about. Some good info and pics.

And this one shows the bracket hanging down from the passenger foot-peg bolt.
