79 GL1000 In A Box

Postby cbx4evr » Wed Jan 25, 2012 9:56 pm

Friend of mine just called me up and offered me a 1979, GL1000 for free.

It was a project that he never finished and never will. Unfortunately it's all in different boxes in varying states of repair.

He has many new parts like shocks and a professionally rebuilt motor.

Hard to turn down a free bike so it looks like I've got a project.

For starters I'm looking for a parts fiche for the GL1000. I've got to have some diagrams that show me how this thing goes together.

Try these links for service, parts and other manuals. Good luck with the project. Half the fun is building it, the other half is riding it.

Sweet deal. It would be nice to see what was done to the motor during the rebuild. Knowing the health of the stator is always nice. Bet you find yourself with a might fine ride when you are done.
