Ignition key

Postby Fab » Sat Feb 11, 2012 3:01 pm

Hi all,
My name`s Mike and I`ve just joined up. I recently bought an 82 1100 Standard US import as a non runner/project bike. I`ve never had a Wing before so I`m looking forward to riding it.
It`s been stored outside under a tarp for a few years but is in reasonable condition as it had a liberal coating of WD40.
I`ve got lots of things that need doing and I`ve got a few ideas of what to do with it(never been a fan of standard bikes)
My first problem is I have no key. So does anyone know where I can get a new one cut as I don`t want to buy a new switch. The barrel is off the bike and the numbers are visable.
Regards
Mike

Fab A good locksmith should be able to cut you a new key from the numbers on your key switch. And welcome to the site, Hal

Well, I now have two new keys. What I did was phone my local Honda dealer who gave me the number for Basildon Locksmiths(01268 534121). I spoke to a guy who knew what I wanted and what he was talking about. Gave him the numbers on the side of the lock, and two days later I have two working keys for £12.50.

Well impressed. First problem solved, on to the next. :)
