can any one tell me if, what kind and how to replace plug wires on 82 gl1100i

Replacement plug wires can be found on the Internet - both OEM and aftermarket, quite a few people sell them.

Replacing them is not that big a job, although you do need to pull the false tank off to gain better access to the coil ends (unless you have REALLY small hands).

do I get just wire or do I have to get complete with caps that snap on plugs

For some models I have seen caps available, so you just have to source wire, but I haven't seen it for the 82 unfortunately.
