Where to get a water pump

Postby zeusmann » Tue Mar 27, 2012 7:23 pm

I am wondering if anyone knew a good place to buy a water pump for my bike.
The cheapest I have found is 130 and then another 30 for the gaskets.

That's a pretty decent price. I shopped around and got a similar price.

I think the cheapest I see online today is at Cyclemax - they've got one for $126.

$118 at Western Honda.. you can rebuild these pumps..and you can get a kit to do from a guy in Holland for about $30 PM me if you want his email. Or you can buy the parts need here..two bearings and one mechanical seal..take the bears to a bearing shop and they will match them..common size the M seal you have to order on line and I may still ahve a source but I'd have to look around.

I found a seller (taunusrainer) on ebay that sells a complete kit for $38 to rebuild the water pump.http://www.ebay.com/itm/280871719857?it ... 60&vxp=mtr

They even sent a great step by step instructions on rebuilding them.

I just replaced my pump 3 days ago after wrestling with the decision to rebuild or replace. After researching this forum and others I came to the decision that given the failure rate of rebuilds vs the effort involved I did not want to do the job twice in one week. The prices you are finding are well within reason, I looked etensively. Some dealers in my area price match so ask your local dealers if they do, at least you can beat s+h that way. Also because of contamination be sure to flush cooling system with distilled water when done. Good luck.

From my own & many other's experience- use only the OEM pump!
the cheap chinese water pumps you find on ebay will not last. good luck!
