Saddlebag and Trunk Seals for a 1983-1100I

Postby dvanvlerah » Tue Apr 10, 2012 11:34 pm

I need to replace the rubber seals on my trunk and saddlebags. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get replacement rubber and what the part number would be? Thanks, David

RUBBER A 81220-463-770 and RUBBER B81320-463-770 RUBBER, TRUNK SEAL 81420-463-770 here are the part numbers but you won't find them at any dealer..unless they have old stock..best to go to a part store with a piece of the old stuff and try to match up as best you can..Or just get a long piece of rubber tubing of the right size slit it down the middle, not an easy task, and slip it on the bags.
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,

A trick for splitting rubber, or tygon tubing is NOT to hold the razor knife in your hand...

but instead :
Hold the razor knife in a vice, and move the tubing , held between firmly with two hands, over the sharp knife edge...
You get a much smoother edge this way !

cant remember the website, but the seals are available, they were sorta pricey, i thought between 20 & 40 for each one.

Go take a trip to the local junk yard and see what you find on the Honda cars
